Wonderful post, Harshini! I am a forcer all the way I’m afraid. Perhaps it’s a bit of a blessing and a curse 😅

It's not a curse, if you don't lose motivation often or run into burn-outs. 🙃

Definitely a win, in my opinion! ✨

Thanks for reading. ^^

For me it is a bit of a balancing act. I usually don't know what will come out until I sit down and start writing/drawing, so in a sense I have to force myself a little to get started, if I didn't I don't think I'd get anything done.

I generally don't force myself because I love writing so much, but I also recognize that that means I won't have any safeguard that will keep me writing when life gets tough, so I don't think it's a good place to be. We should view writing as a discipline, but one you enjoy. Discipline and enjoyment are not mutually exclusive.

When it gets tough, it definitely gets harder to create. Better build the habit of discipline to get through such times, like you said!

Discipline and enjoyment are not mutually exclusive. I'm gonna be saying that from now on.

In other words . . .

Everyone's different. The advice that one person swears by may not work for you. Experiment with different styles, figure out how you tick, then do what works for you.

Thanks for the great guest post!
